Football Recap: Kirk Academy Takes a Loss

If Kirk Academy was feeling good fresh off their 50-13 takedown of Regents last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders received a blow on Friday as they fell 34-16 to the Lee Academy Colts. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Colts apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Although Kirk Academy took the loss, they still got scores from Jett Lewis and Linton Carson.

Desi Monix was his usual excellent self, rushing for 172 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 36 yards and one TD for Lee Academy. Monix is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 115 every time he's taken the field this season.

Kirk Academy's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-5. As for Lee Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Kirk Academy nor Lee Academy have any future games scheduled.
