Del Campo proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 12) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Twelve Bridges Raging Rhinos 2-1. The victory was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on five straight.

Mitchell Clements spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Del Campo is 7-3 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-9-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Del Campo's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Placencia, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits Placencia has posted since back in March.

Del Campo now has a winning record of 13-12-1. As for Twelve Bridges, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.

Del Campo will have a chance to go back-to-back against Twelve Bridges: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
