Basketball Recap: Argos Takes a Loss

Argos extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-6. They fell 31-21 to the Caston Comets. The matchup was a 11-11 toss-up at halftime, but the Dragons couldn't quite close it out.

When it comes to explaining why Argos lost, don't look at Ellie Bollenbacher. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points and six boards. That was a full 57.1% of the Dragons' points, marking the fourth time in a row Bollenbacher has scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinzlee Kelly, who put up seven points.

As for Caston, the win got them back to even at 3-3. The game marked their most dominant victory of the season so far.

Madisyn Douglass had another great game (as she tends to do), going 6-for-12 to rack up 16 points and five rebounds. Douglass is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Allison Craig, who had four points and eight boards.

Looking ahead, Argos will head out on the road to challenge Trinity Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Caston, they will host Oregon-Davis at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
