Basketball Game Preview: Hoehne Farmers vs. Des Moines Demons

The Hoehne Farmers and the Des Moines Demons will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Hoehne was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against FWC Academy on Friday. The Farmers took their game with ease, bagging a 72-44 win over FWC Academy. The Farmers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 6th (when they won 75-40).

Among those leading the charge was Jacob Magninat, who posted 20 points. Another player making a difference was Alan Meraz, who scored ten points.

Meanwhile, Des Moines made easy work of Walsenburg on Friday and carried off a 57-31 victory. The Demons haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The victory got Des Moines back to even at 1-1. As for Hoehne, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Things could have been worse for Hoehne, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-35 loss to Des Moines in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Thankfully for the Farmers, Caleb Sumpter (who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
