Basketball Game Preview: Piedmont Highlanders vs. Bishop O'Dowd Dragons

Piedmont is 0-10 against Bishop O'Dowd since February of 2020 but things could change on Wednesday. The Piedmont Highlanders will square off against the Bishop O'Dowd Dragons at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Piedmont slipped by San Leandro 61-60. Given the Highlanders' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while the Pirates are ranked 696th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Bishop O'Dowd earned a 59-46 win over Castro Valley on Friday.

Bishop O'Dowd is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Piedmont, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.

Piedmont suffered a grim 78-53 defeat to Bishop O'Dowd in their previous meeting back in January. Can Piedmont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
