Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Fort Worth Country Day

Fort Worth Country Day waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Fort Worth THESA Riders. The Falcons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Riders, too.

Madeline Richey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Fort Worth Country Day's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Fuller, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. GG Hoover also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Fort Worth Country Day's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Fort Worth THESA, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Fort Worth Country Day will face off against Hockaday at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons are facing the Daisies at the right time seeing as the Daisies are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Fort Worth THESA does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
