Flag Football Recap: Cordova Takes a Loss

Cordova was the 20-19 winner over Grant when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lancers took a 20-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pacers on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while the Pacers are ranked 172nd).

Cordova's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Grant, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cordova will square off against rival Antelope at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Grant is set to challenge their familiar foe McClatchy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Pacers 10.2, the Lions 10.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
