Football Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Liberty played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 49-6 defeat at the hands of Clinton. The matchup marked Liberty's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Caleb Pilgrim threw for 59 yards on four of 11 attempts. Jonathan Hood was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Kendall Jackson rushed for 84 yards.

Javen Cook was his usual excellent self, rushing for 132 yards and four TDs on only ten carries for Clinton. Thanks to that big game, Cook is now up to 15 rushing touchdowns on the season. Angelo Cromer was another key back, rushing for 121 yards and one score on only five carries.

This is the second loss in a row for Liberty and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Clinton, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Coincidentally, Liberty and Clinton will both be playing Chesnee the next time they take the field. Clinton will head out to face Chesnee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Liberty will host them at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th.
