Basketball Recap: Middleburgh Takes a Loss

If Middleburgh was riding high fresh off their 76-54 takedown of Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Middleburgh Knights were beaten by the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs 86-39 on Wednesday. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Middleburgh's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Berne-Knox-Westerlo, the win keeps them at an undefeated 19-0.

Middleburgh does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Berne-Knox-Westerlo, they will take on Duanesburg at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berne-Knox-Westerlo is on a 22-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), Duanesburg a eight-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
