Basketball Recap: Jaylen Hope and John Mcgowin Secure Win for Mooseheart

Mooseheart won the last time they faced Islamic Foundation and things went their way on Friday too. The Mooseheart Red Ramblers took down the Islamic Foundation Chargers 77-63. The Red Ramblers didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Mooseheart was led to victory by John McGowin and Jaylen Hope. McGowin dropped a double-double with 28 points and 14 boards, while Hope dropped a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds. McGowin is becoming a predictor of Mooseheart's success: when he posts at least ten boards the team is 3-1 (and 5-18 when he doesn't). Oluwatosin Isola was another key player, putting up six points.

Mooseheart's win bumped their record up to 8-19. As for Islamic Foundation, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Mooseheart and Islamic Foundation are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Mooseheart will face off against Indian Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Islamic Foundation, they will challenge Fasman Yeshiva at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
