Volleyball Game Preview: Southwood Knights vs. Eastern Comets

The Southwood Knights will venture away from home to take on the Eastern Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Southwood saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to Cathedral. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Eastern unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to Mississinewa on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Comets have suffered against the Indians since September 10, 2018.

While Eastern had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-22, 25-22.

Southwood now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Eastern, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Southwood took their win against Eastern in their previous matchup back in August of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
