Basketball Recap: East Grand Takes a Loss

East Grand was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Hodgdon Hawks 73-17. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Hawks are ranked 24th).

East Grand's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Hodgdon, their win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Grand will face off against Washburn at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East Grand is facing Washburn at the right time seeing as Washburn is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Hodgdon, they and Madawaska will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played. Madawaska knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 matches -- so hopefully Hodgdon likes a good challenge.
