Softball Recap: Monticello Magic vs. Buffalo Bison
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Becker, Monticello was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Buffalo Bison 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Magic have posted against the Bison since April 2, 2019.
Paige Flanigan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Taylor Marcus was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Dahlke, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.
