Basketball Game Preview: Hemlock Huskies vs. Ithaca Yellowjackets

Hemlock is a perfect 10-0 against Ithaca since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Hemlock Huskies will face off against the Ithaca Yellowjackets at 5:30 p.m. Hemlock is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.

Last Thursday, Hemlock strolled past Glenn with points to spare, taking the game 41-23. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Bobcats are ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Victoria Hauffe, who went 5-for-11 on her way to 18 points and four steals. The game was her fourth in a row with at least 18 points. Carly Siler was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Ithaca didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Hill-McCloy on Monday, but they still walked away with a 53-47 victory.

Hemlock pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.1 points. As for Ithaca, their record is now 8-15.

Everything came up roses for Hemlock against Ithaca when the teams last played back in February, as the team secured a 62-18 victory. In that match, Hemlock amassed a halftime lead of 31-8, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
