Volleyball Recap: Newark Takes a Loss

Newark lost against Hartsburg-Emden back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Norsemen took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stags. The Norsemen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zoey Carlson paced Newark's offense, picking up five kills. Carlson got some help from Taylor Jeffers and her seven assists. Jeffers was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Newark's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Hartsburg-Emden, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Newark has already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Lena-Winslow on the 13th. As for Hartsburg-Emden, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Eureka on the 13th.
