With a playoff game on the line, Monarch rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Homestead Broncos by a score of 28-21. The win was nothing new for the Knights as they're now sitting on three straight.

A big part of Monarch's victory came down to the chemistry between Florentino Lopez and his top target Samari Reed. Lopez rushed for 167 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry while Reed gained 161 total yards and two touchdowns. Reed also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making two total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception. Antwaun Parham did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 88 receiving yards.

Monarch was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 372 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Monarch's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Homestead, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-5.

Monarch will venture away from home to square off against Southridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Monarch is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 27.3 points per game this season. Homestead does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
