Volleyball Game Preview: Paloma Valley Wildcats vs. Moreno Valley Vikings

The Paloma Valley Wildcats will face off against the Moreno Valley Vikings at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Paloma Valley has four straight victories, Moreno Valley has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Paloma Valley barely beat Citrus Hill the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Hawks on Tuesday. The Wildcats not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 13th.

Paloma Valley never let Citrus Hill on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-23, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Moreno Valley lost 3-0 to Valley View on Tuesday. The shutout was out of character for the Vikings seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

While Moreno Valley had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-18, 25-18.

Moreno Valley's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Paloma Valley, their win bumped their record up to 20-10.

Paloma Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Moreno Valley when the teams last played on April 1st, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
