Recap: Bluffton Tigers vs. Manchester Squires
The Bluffton Tigers won the last time they faced the Manchester Squires, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Bluffton strolled past Manchester with points to spare, taking the game 64-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Bluffton.
Bluffton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Haley Gibson led the charge by scoring 15 points. Another player making a difference was Maryn Schreiber, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Manchester's loss came despite strong showings from Emma Walker and Brookelynn Buzzard. Walker scored 15 points, while Buzzard scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Buzzard is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Hadley West was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds.
Bluffton's victory bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Manchester, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7.
Bluffton will face off against Manchester at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manchester and Bluffton are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Manchester, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Tippecanoe Valley at 7:45 p.m. Tippecanoe Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Manchester in Indiana (Tippecanoe Valley is ranked 38th, while Manchester is ranked 149th).
