Basketball Game Preview: Blue Ridge Barons vs. Greenfield Knights

The Blue Ridge Barons will face off against the Greenfield Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Blue Ridge had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 74-52 margin over Virginia Episcopal School on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Greenfield strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They took their contest with ease, bagging an 88-47 win over Southern Wake Academy. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 52-28.

Blue Ridge better keep an eye on Kobe Edwards. He was instrumental in Greenfield's win, shooting 70% from beyond the arc en route to 39 points and five boards. Those 39 points gave Edwards a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Moore, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Blue Ridge strolled past Greenfield in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 84-66. Will the Barons repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
