Recap: St. Anthony Yellowjackets vs. San Antonio Christian Lions
The San Antonio Christian Lions typically have all the answers at home, but on Tuesday the St. Anthony Yellowjackets proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lions 48-45. This was payback for St. Anthony, who suffered a 34-27 loss the last time these two teams met.
Alejandra Vargas continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lisette Vargas, who scored 13 points along with three steals and two blocks.
St. Anthony's win bumped their record up to 15-13. As for San Antonio Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Anthony will face off against the Bloodhounds at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Joseph Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for San Antonio Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against the Barons on Tuesday.
