Soccer Game Preview: St. Paul vs. Verbum Dei Jesuit

The St. Paul Swordsmen will face off against the Verbum Dei Jesuit Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Paul is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Friday just wasn't the day for St. Paul's offense. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 2-0 loss to La Serna.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Verbum Dei Jesuit). They walked away with a 3-1 win over Compton Early College back in December of 2024.

Verbum Dei Jesuit's victory bumped their record up to 3-8-1. As for St. Paul, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7-1.

St. Paul was able to grind out a solid win over Verbum Dei Jesuit when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 3-1. Does St. Paul have another victory up their sleeve, or will Verbum Dei Jesuit turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
