Port Clinton had lost 11 games straight , but after bumping their record up to 2-14 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Northwood Rangers as they made off with a 9-2 victory. The Redskins' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Derek Abernathy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Port Clinton let Danny Baker and Beckett Mizener run wild. Baker got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs, while Mizener went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
