Recap: Valor Christian vs. Mountain Vista

Valor Christian entered their matchup on Friday as the heavy favorite, and they fully lived up to expectations. They steamrollered Mountain Vista 48-7. The lopsided score is just par for the course this season for Valor Christian, who can brag about seven blowout wins.

The Valor Christian offense pulled no punches in the first half and blazed their way to 41 points. Meanwhile, Mountain Vista couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 41-0 heading into the break. The Valor Christian defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the match.

No one put up better numbers for Valor Christian than senior Joshia Davis, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns. Junior Cole Bott was in the mix, too, providing Valor Christian with three touchdowns. They added further sheen to their flawless record, now 8-0. The defeat dropped Mountain Vista's record to 1-7.

Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Valor Christian take on ThunderRidge at 7:00 PM. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a win streak alive as Valor Christian skips in on eight wins and ThunderRidge on three. Mountain Vista will be staying on the road, facing off against Highlands Ranch.
