Baseball Recap: Del Campo Extends Winning Streak to Six

Del Campo came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Twelve Bridges Raging Rhinos, sneaking past 5-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 on Monday.

Brody Bieneman was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Del Campo is undefeated when Bieneman posts two or more runs, but 11-12-1 otherwise.

In other pitching news, Del Campo got a great performance from Logan Smith as he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, Smith posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since April 7th.

Bieneman wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carter Farris, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That's the most hits Farris has posted since back in April of 2024. Another was Landen Hill, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Del Campo's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-12-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Twelve Bridges, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.

Twelve Bridges will be playing at home against Truckee at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raging Rhinos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. Del Campo will be paying especially close attention to Twelve Bridges' contest: after Twelve Bridges faces off against Truckee, they'll take on Del Campo again at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
