Baseball Recap: Raytown South Takes a Loss

Raytown South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Excelsior Springs Tigers, falling 19-1. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 16-1 to the Tigers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Raytown South saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Oliver Logeman, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That RBI was Logeman's first of the season.

Raytown South's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Excelsior Springs, they pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Raytown South will face off against Van Horn at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Excelsior Springs, they will head out to take on Smithville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
