Volleyball Recap: Mesa Vista Comes Up Short

Mesa Vista lost against McCurdy back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Trojans came up short against the Bobcats, falling 3-0.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: McCurdy scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-18, 25-19.

Valery Martinez paced Mesa Vista's offense, picking up eight kills. Martinez got some help from Emmy Torrez and her 12 assists. Charlene Archuleta controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Mesa Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for McCurdy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-3.

Mesa Vista wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Escalante on the 9th. As for McCurdy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Penasco on the 9th.
