Lincoln-Way East faced Barrington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Griffins walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Fillies/Broncos. The win was familiar territory for the Griffins, who have now won six games in a row.

Lincoln-Way East easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-20.

Carter Geiger paced Lincoln-Way East's offense, picking up four kills. Geiger got some help from Will Hubatch and his eight assists. Matthew Muehlnickel controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Lincoln-Way East's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-5. As for Barrington, their loss dropped their record down to 20-11.

Lincoln-Way East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Lyons on the 17th. After both having extra time off, Barrington and Prospect will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
