Basketball Recap: Grant Drops Season-High Score on Alexandria Country Day

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grant). They blew past the Alexandria Country Day Tigers 75-54 on Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Cougars' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Grant's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landen Fletcher, who went 10-for-15 en route to 22 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Fletcher now owns an excellent 50% field goal percentage. Aymaud Sykes was another key player, shooting 89% from the field to rack up 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

The win got Grant back to even at 2-2. As for Alexandria Country Day, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Grant will head out to take on Avoyelles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Alexandria Country Day, they will venture away from home to square off against Northwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
