Softball Game Preview: Letchworth Legends vs. Avon Braves

The Letchworth Legends will challenge the Avon Braves at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Letchworth is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Perry on Wednesday as they made off with a 12-3 victory. The Legends not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 17, 2024 (when they won 22-6).

Meanwhile, Avon put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Dansville an 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won four games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Rylie Miller was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyleigh DeRider, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Avon's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Letchworth, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.
