Basketball Recap: Lakeside Comes Up Short

If Lakeside was feeling good fresh off their 82-53 takedown of Wellpinit last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lakeside Knights fell to the Lapwai Wildcats 46-42. The contest marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Lakeside still got an impressive performance from Tyson Charley, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 22 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Charley's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Furyous Louie, who posted six points and seven assists.

Lakeside's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Lapwai, their victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3.

Lakeside will head out to face off against Potlatch at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 73.6 points per game this season. As for Lapwai, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lapwai Wildcats duke it out with the Kendrick Tigers at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
