Recap: Washington Union Panthers vs. Mission Oak Hawks

The Washington Union Panthers and the Mission Oak Hawks squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Washington Union Panthers had to settle for second. They received a tough blow as they fell 39-25 to the Hawks. Washington Union gained 64 more yards on the day, but it was Mission Oak that made the best of use of them.

Despite the loss, Washington Union had strong showings from Decurtis Stroud, who rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and Ryan Brown, who picked up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Stroud's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards.

Mission Oak's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daniel Gonzalez, who rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 109 yards and a touchdown. Gonzalez hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games. Mission Oak also got a significant boost from Kenny Jackson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 107 yards.

Washington Union now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Mission Oak, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Washington Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mission Oak will look to defend their home field on Friday against Kerman at 7:00 p.m. Kerman is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
