Football Recap: San Pasqual Valley Comes Up Short at Home Against Bourgade Catholic

San Pasqual Valley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 14-7 to the Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1040th in California, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 208th in Arizona).

San Pasqual Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Isaiah Martinez and Alex Acuna. Acuna got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

San Pasqual Valley has already played their next match, a 30-0 victory against St. John Paul II Catholic on the 29th. As for Bourgade Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 36-0 win against Coronado on the 29th.
