Baseball Recap: Duchesne Eagles vs. Monticello Buckaroo
Duchesne won the last time they faced Monticello and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eagles walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Buckaroo. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Nashden Goodliffe and Caleb Thompson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Goodliffe pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Thompson didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. At the plate, Goodliffe scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Thompson scored a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Goodliffe has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Rylann Butler was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Payson Davis also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Duchesne's record now sits at 7-12. As for Monticello, they dropped their record down to 5-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
