Basketball Game Preview: Benson Bunnies vs. Elkhorn South Storm

The Benson Bunnies will take on the Elkhorn South Storm at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Benson is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Millard North just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a blow against the Mustangs, falling 82-39. While losing is never fun, the Bunnies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 197th, while the Mustangs are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, Elkhorn South came up short against Bellevue East on Saturday and fell 70-59. The Storm haven't had much luck with the Chieftains recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Elkhorn South's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Benson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Benson came up short against Elkhorn South in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 71-60. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Elkhorn South's Mollie Probasco, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 13 boards.
