Basketball Recap: Quintyn Voltz Key Part of a Team Effort in Hawks Win

Decatur Central won the last time they faced Greenwood and things went their way on Friday too. The Decatur Central Hawks came out on top against the Greenwood Woodmen by a score of 76-68.

Decatur Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quintyn Voltz, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 20 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lavell Love, who went 6 for 7 en route to 13 points and four steals.

Greenwood lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Isaac O'Neal, who went 7 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 25 points. Parker Doolin was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Decatur Central's record now sits at 5-9. As for Greenwood, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Decatur Central will challenge Avon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Avon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.3 points per game this season. As for Greenwood, they will face off against Perry Meridian at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st.
