The Greendale Panthers will challenge the St. Catherine's Angels at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Greendale sitting on four straight wins and St. Catherine's on three.
Greendale is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Cudahy a 16-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 17 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Ayla Krecklow made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Giselle Paszkiewicz was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Macey St. Lawrence, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Greendale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .739. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, St. Catherine's was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Thomas More last Tuesday, taking the game 7-3.
Like Greendale, St. Catherine's also got a great game from a two-way player: Anika Munoz. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Munoz has posted over her last 11 contests. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Londyn Pardo, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and one double while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April. Aniyah Price was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Greendale's win bumped their record up to 21-4-1. As for St. Catherine's, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Greendale has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like St. Catherine's struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts.
