Softball Game Preview: West Bridgewater Wildcats vs. Fairhaven Blue Devils

West Bridgewater hasn't had much luck against Fairhaven recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Blue Devils at 3:45 p.m. West Bridgewater is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

West Bridgewater barely beat Bourne the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats blew past the Canalmen 18-1 on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

West Bridgewater got a massive performance out of Emma Croce, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three doubles. Those three stolen bases gave Croce a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alanna Fidalgo, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.

West Bridgewater always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Fairhaven came up short against Case on Monday, falling 13-1. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost six in a row.

West Bridgewater's record is now 5-9. As for Fairhaven, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

West Bridgewater might still be hurting after the 14-1 defeat they got from Fairhaven in their previous matchup last Monday. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
