Phoenix Christian extends home winning streak to five

Recap: Phoenix Christian Cougars vs. Fountain Hills Falcons

The Phoenix Christian Cougars had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Monday. They walked away with a 65-56 victory over Fountain Hills. 65 seems to be a good number for Phoenix Christian as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Phoenix Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryce Anderson out in front who scored 20 points. Anderson is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Malakhai Moore Neal, who scored 16 points.

Despite the defeat, Fountain Hills had strong showings from Keaton Ort, who scored 24 points, and Sam Barnard, who scored nine points along with six assists and four steals. Ort has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. Lucas Grieco was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Phoenix Christian pushed their record up to 14-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Fountain Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Phoenix Christian will head out on the road to challenge Mountainside at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mountainside is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Fountain Hills, they will be playing at home against Northwest Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Northwest Christian is ranked 101st, while Fountain Hills is ranked 94th).
