It was a good run, but Maryville unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Clarinda Cardinals by a score of 2-1. The Spoofhounds were not able to make up for their loss to the Cardinals from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Abigail Bowe paced Maryville's offense, picking up seven kills. Bowe got some help from Gracyn Hoover and her 16 assists. Charlotte Davison controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Maryville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Clarinda, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Maryville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against West Central Valley on the 6th. As for Clarinda, they will take on Denison-Schleswig at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
