Basketball Game Preview: Desert View Jaguars vs. Canyon del Oro Dorados

Desert View is 0-3 against Canyon del Oro since December of 2014 but things could change on Friday. Both will face off at 7:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played.

It was a proper cat-fight when Desert View took on Casa Grande on Thursday. Desert View was outmatched by Casa Grande and fell 76-36. That's two games in a row now that the Jaguars have lost by exactly 40 points.

Meanwhile, Canyon del Oro had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They managed a 69-64 win over the Apaches. Given the Dorados' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Apaches are ranked 107th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

This is the second loss in a row for Desert View and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for Canyon del Oro, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Desert View couldn't quite finish off Canyon del Oro in their previous meeting back in December of 2019 and fell 71-68. Can Desert View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
