Football Recap: Sherwood Comes Up Short

Sherwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 14-6 to Lone Jack/Kingsville. The Marksmen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lone Jack/Kingsville apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Logan Mueller threw for 40 yards on six of 19 attempts. Ab Chaikin was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards.

Sherwood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Lone Jack/Kingsville, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sherwood will host Versailles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Marksmen will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 55 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
