Football Game Preview: Corinth Holders Pirates vs. Leesville Road Pride + Official Tickets

The Corinth Holders Pirates will challenge the Leesville Road Pride at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Corinth Holders didn't have too much trouble with Athens Drive as they won 30-13. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Jaguars are ranked 273rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Corinth Holders can attribute much of their success to David Jarman, who threw for 125 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Leesville Road, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They claimed a resounding 40-13 win over Enloe. The result was nothing new for the Pride, who have now won five matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Leesville Road's win came from a few key players Corinth Holders will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Damacio Cueto, who threw for 248 yards and three TDs while completing 92.9% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (171.1). Akshar Barnes was another key player, rushing for 85 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries.

Leesville Road's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.2 points over those games. As for Corinth Holders, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
