Basketball Recap: Greenville Tigers vs. Calhoun Tigers
The Greenville Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 12th straight defeat. They fell 65-56 to Calhoun. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Greenville in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.
Calhoun got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kentavius Loftin out in front who scored 13 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Loftin has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ladarrius Thigpen, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Greenville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 15 of their last 16 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-23 record this season. As for Calhoun, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Greenville's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Carroll focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Thursday. As for Calhoun, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ellwood Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
