Softball Recap: Middleton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Janesville Parker on Thursday, Middleton came back down to earth. The Cardinals fell just short of the Madison West Regents by a score of 7-6 on Friday. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Regents earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

Hailey Stroede was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Dani Nolte, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Middleton's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Madison West, they moved to 5-11 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Middleton will face off against rival Madison Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Madison West is set to challenge their familiar foe Janesville Craig at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
