Basketball Recap: Martinsville Takes a Loss

Martinsville was the 50-36 winner over Red Hill when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Martinsville Bluestreaks fell just short of the Red Hill Salukis by a score of 34-32 on Thursday. The Bluestreaks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Red Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caitlee Gray led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. Gray has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Riley Moore, who posted seven points and three steals.

Martinsville's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Red Hill, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-12.

While Martinsville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
