Baseball Recap: Purchase Line Takes a Loss

Purchase Line was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blacklick Valley Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Dragons of the 14-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Purchase Line saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Coby Byers, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. That run was Byers' first of the season. Another was Devlan Kordish, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Purchase Line's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Blacklick Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Coming up, Purchase Line will venture away from home to take on Harmony Area at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Blacklick Valley, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against North Star at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
