Preview: Peabody-Burns Warriors vs. Centre Cougars
The Peabody-Burns Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Centre Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Peabody-Burns and three for Centre.
Last Tuesday, Peabody-Burns had to suffer through a rough 71-31 loss at the hands of Solomon. While losing is never fun, Peabody-Burns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while Solomon is ranked 137th).
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Centre, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-47 loss to Herington on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Centre in their matchups with Herington: they've now lost three in a row.
Peabody-Burns dropped their record down to 2-14 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Centre, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
Peabody-Burns came up short against Centre when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 56-45. Can Peabody-Burns avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
