Basketball Game Preview: Waterloo West Wahawks vs. Cedar Falls Tigers

The Waterloo West Wahawks will head out on the road to face off against the Cedar Falls Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Waterloo West has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the ninth.

Last Tuesday, Waterloo West was beaten by Iowa City 78-49. While losing is never fun, the Wahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Little Hawks are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Cedar Falls, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They managed a 53-47 victory over Prairie on Tuesday.

Cedar Falls is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Waterloo West, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.

Waterloo West took a serious blow against Cedar Falls in their previous matchup on January 7th, falling 69-34. Can Waterloo West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
