Softball Game Preview: West Carter Comets vs. Fairview Eagles

The West Carter Comets are taking a road trip to challenge the Fairview Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Carter will be strutting in after a victory while Fairview will be coming in after a loss.

West Carter barely beat Morgan County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Comets put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 11-1 win on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Comets needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Meanwhile, Fairview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 15-0 to Boyd County. The game marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Fairview's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for West Carter, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-15.

West Carter got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March against Fairview by a conclusive 19-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
