Basketball Game Preview: Victory Christian Academy Chargers vs. Eagle Ridge Christian Eagles

The Victory Christian Academy Chargers will head out to square off against the Eagle Ridge Christian Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Victory Christian Academy fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 55-50 to the Crusaders. The Chargers have struggled against the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Victory Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jadon Blumenthal went 10-for-23 to rack up 29 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Kreitler, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, Eagle Ridge Christian played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Liberty Christian Academy 98-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Eagle Ridge Christian has suffered against Liberty Christian Academy since December 19, 2019.

Eagle Ridge Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Victory Christian Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Victory Christian Academy took a serious blow against Eagle Ridge Christian in their previous matchup back in January, falling 68-34. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
